Server-side tracking
Also called server-side tagging, S2S tracking.
Sending analytics or conversion events from a server, rather than from the visitor's browser.
Server-side tracking covers two setups. In the first, a browser tag sends data to a server on your domain, which forwards it to tools (a server-side tag manager or proxy). In the second, your backend sends events straight to a tool's API when something happens, such as a paid order sent to the Meta Conversions API.
The second kind fixes missing sales, because the event comes from the system that recorded the sale. Neither kind changes what needs consent. See server-side vs client-side tracking.
