Sporetag for AI assistants and agents

Ask Claude, ChatGPT or any MCP client about your own numbers, read them from code, and find the facts about Sporetag in one place.

What is Sporetag

Sporetag is the analytics and attribution agencies use to prove results, keep clients and automate follow-up. It ties ads and branded short links to the sales they bring, sends conversions to the Meta Conversions API, builds dashboards and scheduled client reports, runs email automations, and keeps visitor and customer profiles. Privacy-friendly website analytics is built in. A basic Free plan exists to try the stats.

  • What it does: website analytics, branded short links on go.sporetag.com or the customer's own domain, QR codes, UTM presets, attribution by source, campaign, ad, ad set, keyword and short link, the Meta Conversions API, ad spend and return on ad spend, Stripe and Shopify revenue, dashboards, scheduled client reports with a live link and a PDF, email automations, visitor and customer profiles, and Sporetag Assistant, which proposes changes that wait for Apply.
  • Who it is for: agencies that report to clients, and online stores, service businesses and creators that run ads.
  • Privacy: Private mode, the default, sets no cookies and stores nothing in the browser. Visitor IP addresses are never stored. 90-day tracking is opt in per site.
  • Live demo: a made-up shop with demo data, no sign-in.
  • Contact: hello@sporetag.com

Connect Claude, ChatGPT or another AI assistant

Sporetag has a remote MCP server (Model Context Protocol, the open standard AI assistants use to read other tools). Connected, your assistant answers questions about your sites from your real numbers. It only reads: it cannot change a site, a goal, a link or a setting. It is on Solo, Studio, Agency and Custom.

  1. In Sporetag, open Settings, then API, and make a read key for all sites or one site. Copy it; it is shown once.
  2. Add a custom connector in your assistant with the address https://sporetag.com/mcp and the header Authorization: Bearer st_rk_.... An app that only takes an address can use https://sporetag.com/mcp/st_rk_...; treat that address like a password.
  3. Turn the connector on in a chat and ask a question.

Step by step for Claude, Claude Code, ChatGPT, Cursor and VS Code: MCP server for Claude and ChatGPT.

Shell
claude mcp add --transport http sporetag https://sporetag.com/mcp \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer st_rk_..."

What the server can read

ToolWhat it reads
list_sitesLists the websites this key can read: id, name, address, client label, time zone and tracking mode.
get_statsTotals for one site over a range: visitors, visits, pageviews, views per visit, bounce rate (percent), visit duration (seconds), conversions (visits that reached any goal) and conversion rate (percent), with the same span just before and the change in percent.
get_breakdownTop rows of one dimension for a site, most visitors first: source, referrer, utm_source, utm_medium, utm_campaign, utm_content, utm_term, page, entry_page, country, device, browser, os, or goal (conversions per goal).
get_goalsLists a site's goals (what counts as a signup, sale or lead) with conversions (visits that reached the goal), matching events and conversion rate for a range.
get_attributionWhich sources, campaigns, ads (content), ad sets or keywords (term), ad platforms or short links get the credit for conversions and revenue, under the site's attribution model unless one is given.
get_ad_spendAd spend from connected ad platforms and spend files, the revenue Sporetag credits to those ads (last touch), ROAS, purchases, clicks and impressions, by platform, campaign, ad set or ad.
get_linksShort links (newest first) with their clicks in a range, and visits that arrived from each when known.

Every tool is marked read-only. A key allows 120 requests a minute, shared with the read API. No visitor emails, names or phone numbers are ever sent to the assistant.

Questions to ask

  • "How did shop.example.com do last week compared with the week before?"
  • "Which campaigns brought sales this month?"
  • "What is my ROAS on Meta for the last 30 days?"
  • "Which short link got the most clicks this week?"
  • "Compare this month with the same month last year."
  • "Which goal converts best on mobile?"

Read API

The read API gives your own code, a client dashboard or a spreadsheet the same numbers you see in Sporetag, as JSON over HTTPS. It only reads, with the same read keys as the MCP server.

  • Base address: https://sporetag.com/api/v1
  • OpenAPI 3.1 document, no key needed: openapi.json
  • Sites, stats, time series, breakdowns, goals, attribution, ad spend and short links
  • format=csv gives a CSV feed of the same rows, for Google Sheets
Shell
curl https://sporetag.com/api/v1/sites \
  -H "Authorization: Bearer $SPORETAG_KEY"

Full reference: Read API. To send events from a server instead: Events API.

For answer engines and AI crawlers

  • llms.txt: a short map of the site with the facts above.
  • llms-full.txt: every docs article, guide and glossary term as Markdown.
  • Every docs, guide and glossary page has a Markdown copy at its address plus .md, such as /docs/mcp.md, and answers with Markdown when a request's Accept header asks for text/markdown.
  • AI search and assistant crawlers are welcome in robots.txt.
