Consent mode

Also called Google consent mode, consent mode v2.

Google's way for its tags to change behavior based on the visitor's consent choices.

Consent mode passes a visitor's choices, such as analytics_storage and ad_storage, to Google's tags. When consent is denied, the tags do not set cookies, and in the advanced setup they send cookieless pings that Google can use for modeling.

GA4's behavioral modeling only switches on for properties that meet thresholds, such as at least 1,000 events a day with analytics storage denied for 7 days and 1,000 daily users who granted consent (Google). Smaller sites get no modeled data.
