Install on Shopify

You copy one line from Sporetag and paste it into your Shopify theme. It takes about five minutes.

Before you start

Copy your tag. In Sporetag, open Set up your site, or open your site's Settings. Your tag looks like this, with your own address:

Steps

1. In your Shopify admin, open Online Store. You land on your themes.
2. Next to your current theme, click the ... button, then Edit code.
3. In the layout folder, open theme.liquid.
4. Find the line </head>. Paste the tag on the line just above it.
5. Click Save.

Check it works

Go back to Sporetag. On the last setup step, click Check my site. Then open your store in a new tab. Your first visit shows up in a minute or two.

Good to know

• Shopify checkout pages do not run theme code, so Sporetag does not count them. To count sales, send them from your server with the Events API, on paid plans.
• If you switch to a new theme later, paste the tag into the new theme too.
• A store with a password page still works, but our check cannot see past the password. Open the store yourself and wait for the first visit.
