Install on WordPress

You add a small free plugin, then paste one line from Sporetag. It takes about five minutes.

Before you start

Copy your tag. In Sporetag, open Set up your site, or open your site's Settings. Your tag looks like this, with your own address:

Steps

1. In your WordPress admin, go to Plugins, then Add New Plugin.
2. Search for WPCode. Click Install Now, then Activate.
3. Go to Code Snippets, then Header & Footer.
4. Paste the tag into the Header box and save.
5. If you use a cache plugin, clear its cache.

Check it works

Go back to Sporetag. On the last setup step, click Check my site. Then open your site in a new tab. Your first visit shows up in a minute or two.

Good to know

• Any plugin that adds code to the head works the same way. Some themes have a header code box in their own settings too.
• On WordPress.com, adding plugins may need a paid plan.
• If the check says the tag is missing, clear your cache plugin and any CDN cache, then check again.
