Airtable

Send each customer profile, with where they came from and what they spent, to an Airtable table. Orders can get their own table.

The Airtable connector keeps a table of your customers up to date: one row per person who gave you an email, with their first and last source, campaign, ad platform, landing page, short link, visits, revenue and orders. It can also add one row per order to a second table.

It is on paid plans: Solo, Studio, Agency and Custom. Free does not include it.

It needs Sporetag's own Airtable integration. Until it is set up for this server, the row says (when shipped). A webhook to Zapier or Make can fill a table until then.

Connect

  1. In Sporetag, open your site, then Integrations. Under CRMs and sending, click Connect next to Airtable. The login opens in a new tab.
  2. Log in to Airtable. Pick the bases Sporetag may use, and click Grant access.
  3. Back in Sporetag, pick the Base, then the Table. Pick Make a "Sporetag profiles" table for me to start fresh.
  4. Tick the fields to send, and click Start sending.

What Sporetag asks for:

PermissionWhy
data.records:read, data.records:writeAdd and update rows
schema.bases:readList your bases, tables and columns
schema.bases:writeMake the table and add missing columns

To make a table or add columns you need to be a creator on the base.

Columns

Each field goes in a column named like the field, such as Sporetag first source. Change a name under Column names to use a column you already have.

  • Rows are matched on the Email column, so each person is one row. Change its name if your table uses another.
  • Missing columns are added with the right type: text, number, date or link. Sporetag never renames or deletes a column.
  • A field with no value is left out, so Sporetag never empties a cell.

Orders

Tick Also add one row per order. Sporetag makes a Sporetag orders table with Order ID, Email, Date, Value, Currency, Source, Kind and Title. Orders from Stripe, Shopify, the Events API and won CRM deals go in, one row each, matched on Order ID.

When rows go out

  • Right away when your site identifies someone with an email.
  • Within 15 minutes for everyone else whose profile changed.
  • Send everyone now sends every profile once more.

Airtable takes up to 10 rows a request and 5 requests a second to a base. Sporetag keeps to that, so a big first send takes a few minutes. If Airtable asks it to slow down, it waits 30 seconds and carries on.

People with no email are not sent. While Show contact details is off, nobody is sent, since Sporetag keeps only hashed emails.

When something fails

A failed send waits 1, 5, 15, 30, then 60 minutes before the next try. From the sixth failure in a row, the row says Needs attention with the reason. A deleted table or base says so: pick a table again.

An Airtable login ends after 60 days without use. While sending is on, Sporetag renews it on its runs, so it stays alive. If it ends, the row says Reconnect.

Disconnect

Disconnect deletes the saved login and stops sending. Rows already in Airtable stay there.
