Measure

Tracking health

One score per site that says whether you can trust its numbers, with a short list of checks and a one-tap fix for each.

Every site gets a tracking health score: the checks that pass, out of those that apply, such as Tracking 9/10. It shows as a badge next to the site's name on its dashboard and on each site in your sites list. Tap the badge for the checks.

Green means all good. Amber means something is worth a look. Red means something needs a fix: some numbers are missing or wrong until it is fixed.

The checks

CheckPasses whenThe fix
Tag sends visitsA visit came in during the last 24 hours, or the site is quiet anywayCheck the tag on your site
Tag on every pageEach page we read, and each page your short links lead to, loads the tagAdd the tag to the pages named
90-day tagIn Attribution mode, your pages load the 90-day tag, not the plain oneSwap in the 90-day tag
One tag per pageNo page loads the tag twice, which would count each visit twiceRemove the extra tag
Orders tied to a visit60% or more of store and CRM orders in 30 days came from a tracked visitThe Shopify snippet, the Stripe visitor id, or 90-day tracking
Ad clicks arrive tracked40% or more of the clicks your ad accounts report reach your site with their click idGoogle auto-tagging, or ad links that keep their click id
Visitors who say yesWhen the site asks for consent, 30% or more of visitors say yesCheck or shorten the banner, or connect your consent tool
Conversions reach Meta95% or more of this week's sends to Meta arrivedSee the failed sends
Goals countingThe site has goals, and each counted something in 30 daysAdd or check goals
No checkout as a sourceNo payment page or your own domain starts visitsCount them as my site, in one tap
Ads name their campaign80% or more of visits from ads carry UTM tagsAdd the ad URL template

A check that does not apply yet is listed under Not checked yet with what it needs, like "Connect Shopify or Stripe to check this." It does not count toward the score.

Some ad blockers stop the tag from loading, so a share of clicks and orders never reaches any tool. The bars above leave room for that.

Checkout pages as a source

A buyer who pays on PayPal or a Stripe page and comes back would otherwise look like a new visit from that page, and the ad that brought them would lose the sale. Count them as my site treats those pages as part of your site from then on: the visit carries on, and the credit stays with the ad.

How often

Sporetag checks each site about once an hour, and reads your home page and up to four pages it links to once a day. Check again on the health page does it all now.

Alerts

When a check turns red, Sporetag sends one Tracking needs a fix alert, like the other Autopilot alerts. It goes to you only, never to invited clients, and only once per break. A tag that stops sending has its own alert, Tag stopped sending.
