Track Booksy bookings

What Sporetag counts for a salon or barber that books on Booksy, Fresha, Square or Calendly, what it cannot see yet, and how to import past clients.

On this page

Booksy bookings happen on booksy.com: on your Booksy profile, or in the window Booksy's Book now button opens on your own site. Your site never sees the booking itself, so Sporetag counts the steps it can see, with nothing to set up.

What counts today

WhatHowSetup
Taps on your booking linksA tap on any link from your site to Booksy, or on Booksy's Book now button, is the event Booking started, with platform: BooksyNone. It rides on the automatic outbound clicks
Taps on your bio linkA short link to your Booksy page counts every tap, by where it came from: Instagram, TikTok, a QR code, an adMake the link once
The goalOnce two different visitors tap, the Booking started goal is added for you, or suggested if you turned off Add suggested goals without askingNone

The same works for Fresha, Vagaro, StyleSeat, Square Appointments, Calendly, Acuity, Mindbody, GlossGenius and Setmore links. Taps on booking links are free: they never count toward your monthly events.

When your home page links to your booking page, Sporetag offers the link for you: on Set up your site, under Done for you, and at the top of Links. Press Make the link. The form opens with your booking page, a title and the Instagram bio tags; press Make link and put the short link in your bio.

To make one by hand: Links, New link, paste your Booksy page (like https://booksy.com/en-us/123456_your-shop) and pick Instagram bio.

Booksy's own Book button on an Instagram business profile goes straight to Booksy, so Sporetag cannot count taps on it. Your bio link is the one it can count.

What does not count yet

  • Completed appointments. Booksy tells only its partners when a booking is made, changed or canceled (an appointment webhook), and partner access is by request. Until Sporetag has it, a tap is someone starting to book, not a booking. With it, each Booksy booking will count as Booking, with the service and price (when shipped).
  • Your Meta pixel or Google tag inside Booksy. We found no way to add your own pixel or Google Analytics to Booksy's booking pages, so Meta and Google cannot see a Booksy booking either.

Bring in past clients

Booksy Biz can download your client list as a CSV file: open Customers, then Export to CSV (Goldie's Booksy guide). Then import it: match the email, phone and name columns, and each client gets a profile. A client who later fills in a form on your site or books through a connected tool is matched to the same profile.

Booksy has no button to export past appointments. Booksy support can send them as a CSV on request (same guide; ask at the support address for your country on Booksy's contact page). Importing that file adds the people in it. Match the appointment date to Date they joined and the service to Custom property: they show on each profile, but not as bookings or revenue.

Other booking tools

ToolTaps on linksThe booking itself
CalendlyYesYes, on paid Sporetag and Calendly plans: the site's Integrations, Calendly bookings, paste a personal access token once. Each booking is the Booking goal with the service and price paid. Or embed Calendly on your site and use the Someone books or calls goal
FreshaYesFresha takes your Meta Pixel and Google Analytics ids for its booking flow (Fresha: Meta Pixel, Fresha: Google Analytics), but not a Sporetag tag
AcuityYesNot yet. Acuity's webhook sends only an appointment id, read back with your API key (Acuity)
Square AppointmentsYesNot yet. Square's Bookings API and its webhooks need a Sporetag app connected to your Square account, which is not built
Booksy, Vagaro, StyleSeat, Mindbody, GlossGenius, SetmoreYesNot yet
